Martell Cognac South Africa Launch – 22 October to 21 November 2015

The Client

The Project

The brief was to relaunch Martell Cognac in SA. The thing was, we needed to epitomise the meaning of Cognac – It’s high-quality. It’s sophistication. It’s class.  The interesting part? We created the first Pop-Up experience in the Cognac category in SA…

Not only was it a chic cocktail bar… weekly it hosted SA’s finest music legends to perform and offered guests a 6 course fine dining experience.

Our Tasks & Responsibilities

music artist booking & management restaurant implementation & management daily operations  full turn-key roll out  lease acquisition licensing & insurance  daily stock control  staff management & payroll  shop fit design & implementation  custom furniture manufacture  cocktail menu development & maintenance  weekly reporting micro-site development with booking system integration.

 

The Solution

We did what the brief asked, and we did some more. We created a unique and immersive event where attendees could take part in a fine dining experience with Karo De Waal and Vicky Crease, showcased the Martell Trunk from world-renowned Pinel & Pinel whilst sipping on custom made, one of a kind Martell Cocktails. The experience oozed with class and sophistication and what’s more, it made customers see the brand(y) in a whole new light, and man oh man, was it bright. The creative for the event was designed by an Agency (Publicis) of the brand’s, but we created, manufactured, and made all the bespoke items which included the furniture and fixtures. We negotiated the rental for the space, acquired the licensing, designed the cocktails, managed the food operations, managed the bar and allocated and managed all the entertainment.

Visi Magazine quote: “A prestigious pop-up cognac house presented by Martell is now open on the ground floor of the Sandton Eye in Joburg. Guests can expect high-end cuisine, entertainment, and of course, the finest cognac.”
